Costco Rocks

Theres something about Costco that always seems to bring a smile to my face. Maybe it's the long aisles of deals you get, maybe its the hot & fresh pizza, or perhaps its the endless amounts of free samples from all the old nice ladies. Either way, either way, whenever I go to costco, I know I will leave satisfied. That being said, I am eagerly awaiting my financial aide check from school to come in so I can go buy some damn choniz, check out the laptops, stock up on Brisk Ice Tea, and of course eat a whole damn pizza by myself. If your down to go, let me know, I've got a Costco card that will save you some dinero!!

I have fond memories of going to Costco at least twice a week when i was junior high since it was right down the street. Either my mother or aunt would pick up my siblings and I after school and we would go get pizza and shop around for whatever they needed, sometimes we would take off and see who could get the most samples. Id usually win since I was fast on my feet and knew where to go and how to talk to the old ladies into giving me big samples lol.

Anyways, Im looking at possibly getting a macbook.

It's got all the specs I want and with my school discount it comes up to $999.99 and a free ipod, but Im still debating if I should get it because i already have a gateway and even though it's wearing down, I'm not sure if getting a laptop would be the wisest decision, its not something I need, its something I want.

As for choniz, Costco usually carries great deals, like a bundle of 6 quality choniz for real cheap, ideally i would like to get those Unisex Baby Rib Men's Brief from American Apparel, why? because of the variety of florescent colors that come in them, thats why!! And they look comfy. I was gonna post the guy version of the undies so you would get a better idea of what I'm talking about, but who the hell wants to stare at balls? I know I don't haha so i figured this model looked better in them ;). Cheers to American Apparel for having Unisex items.

p.s.

I can't wait for this....

For every seed must die before it grows.

Today is unique. Today marks the one year anniversary of the car crash that changed my life in a way.

The day started out great. In the morning I went to visit my grandmother who was recovering from brain surgery at Talbert Medical Center in Fountain Valley before I departed with chuck to go watch our good friends in Azusa rock the shit out of Warped Tour.

Who would have known that after saying bye to my grandma at the hospital in the morning, I would end up at my own hospital by the end the night.

In a nutshell, a drunk driver slammed into my gf(at the time) car on the 22 freeway at night on our way home. We narrowly avoided traffic and spun into the center divider now facing oncoming traffic.

The scariest part was hearing her screams and watching her sit helpless unable to move while we waited for help to arrive. For a good 10 minutes I figured that if the crash didn't kill us, we most certainly were gonna get hit by some other drunk driving idiot that would clip us, (you always see that on tv, where someone is off to the side of traffic fixing a flat tire or just waiting for a tow truck and some fool hits them). Don't Drink & Drive, Be Responsible.

The reason why I labeled this post "For every seed must die before it grows" is because even though we survived, I feel a part of us died that day. The part that feels super invincible, our innocence i suppose. The car accident felt like a rude awakening and is safe to say was the precursor of many things to come. While i grew closer to her, she grew further apart, both realizing our lives and putting them into perspective.

Looking back now, I realize that I am a greater person now than I was then. I mean spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. The wisdom I gained from those experiences strengthens my outlook and helps me keep focus on my life's goals. My priorities are in check and my potential ends only when I stop trying. People say things happen for a reason, and that somethings are destined to occur. I believe that to a certain extent, because if we were destined for somethings then what good is it to have aspirations for anything? Wouldn't you want to have control over your own life and write your own script? I believe that when things happen, there are a many roads you can choose to take, and its that one road you choose that sets the tone for you life from then on.

Saying Goodbye to Summer

As the hours count down, and the sun continues to fade, I find myself content with the way things turned out this past summer. School starts on Tuesday and this past week, while remodeling my damn bathroom, I've had a long time to reflect and focus on what has transpired since the beginning of '08, specifically summer.

Fall of '07 was a pretty ruff period in my life, felt unreal sometimes, just imagine everything that could go wrong, go wrong. Failing to deal with my emotions & opting to bury them only made matters worse. That is where the consequences come into play. My school work, band, work, & overall out look on life were affected negatively. I struggled at the beginning of the '08 semester, missed band practices, half ass-ed at work all due to the lack of motivation I conjured. I had a "who gives a fuck" attitude, thinking that nothing was worth it anymore.

This is where I thank my friends and family. You guys are the best, people say things like "I don't know where id be if it weren't for you" all the time, but now I know what it truly means. Family will always be there, it is a given where I come from, but your friends, your friends choose to be there, thats what makes them special. We didn't even have to be doing anything, just simply hanging out and being there was enough for me to realize how good i still have it and how thankful i should be because no matter what, unfortunately there is always someone worse off than you. I believe its the transition period that is always the hardest to overcome.

“It's not so much that we're afraid of change or so in love with the old ways, but it's that place in between that we fear . . . . It's like being between trapezes. It's Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There's nothing to hold on to.”
-Marilyn Ferguson

Fast forward midway through my spring semester '08, I began to come to my senses, acknowledged the tasks at hand and regained focus to work whole heartedly for my school grades, band & work. Armed with the motivation of summer bringing forth band tour, Vegas, my birthday, etc., I was determined to finish stronger than ever.

With the exception of tour falling through, I could not have been more satisfied with the way summer blossomed. Highlights include:
-Traditional trips to the beach.
-Basketball Thursdays (coming back with a vengeance).
-Justin's Backyard boogies.
-Midnight Bike Rides around the orange circle & downtown disney.
-Going to Sd to watch DL , later realizing we were spending the night haha, & downing a 12 pack of tecates.
-Getting "evicted" from the beach on me and Matt's birthday bash throwdown at Huntington (i guess theres a first for everything, lol).
-Our band releasing our first Album
-Vegas twice, with the group, (randomly hanging with bball all americans).
-4th of July fireworks @ the Apostles.
-The Dark Knight Midnight Premiere with the group, one word....masterpiece.
-My birthday weekend, beach, Group dinner, family dinner. :)
-Who can forget JOOYCE Red's 21st bday where practically everyone was gone hahaha. haha i threw pizza on the roof, so Scott says.
-Darwins prank calls, Darrell's rastafarian party, Dj Danns mythical skills at everyones shindigs.
-Pool parties @ Danns apartment in the Uptown haha.
-Taco tuesdays, $1 tacos, can't go wrong when your shit turns green.
-Grand Opening of Skyline to watch Dann spin at a club for the 1st time.
-Chillen with Hello Kitty at the heist for Steve Aoki
just to name a few...

So for the first time in a long time I am looking forward to starting off this final fall semester because I will graduate in December with my B.S. It's hard to imagine someone looking forward to school but i believe this is possible due to the fact that I am content with summer and are therefore ready move on and march toward graduation.

Perhaps the greatest lesson learned is that, Our character is not determined by what happens to us, rather we are defined on how we respond to life's challenges.

So long summer. :)

1st Blood

I don't really know what to expect from the blogworld, but i do know there are a million and one thoughts running through my mind. Sometimes I feel the need to write them down before my brain explodes. So in conclusion, I have elected to use more modern ways to express my intellect, thus I welcome "eblog". haha.

Good Afternoon.
